Compared with other carbon products, carbon electrode has the characteristics of wide applications. It could be used in industrial silicone, yellow phosphorus, calcium carbide, iron alloy steel and other ore smelting furnace. Nowadays, developed countries all use carbon electrode in ore smelting furnace.
Nowadays, industrial silicone and yellow phosphorus smelting furnace has started to replace high cost graphite electrode. Compared with graphite electrode, the diameter of carbon electrode could be made larger at the same volume of submerged arc furnace. Nowadays, in dosmetic, carbon electrode could be made Φ650-Φ1200mm while graphite electrode could only be made Φ600mm. It broadens the band in the furnace and stable the curve, which guarantees hot melting efficiency, increases product capacity and decrease the product consumptions.
Carbon electrode is a energy conservation, environmental protection product. It could be greatly reduce the smelting power consumption when used in iron alloy steel smelting furnace to reduce pollution. It is the replacement of electrode paste. It has the following characteristics compared with electrode paste self-roasting electrode: increase the capacity of smelting furnace, reduce power consumption 15-20%, bring down labor strength, simplify production technology, improve working environment and save working cost.
