What is the difference between Teflon carbon rod and graphite rod

Tetrafluoroethylene is a kind of plastic with the best corrosion resistance. Graphite is one of the substances with high temperature resistance in nature, and also one of the most natural conductive substances with good lubrication effect. Graphite and tetrafluoroethylene are mixed to make special materials, which can wear-resistant, but change the conductivity and lubrication performance of graphite. The only advantage is to increase the wear-resistant performance. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has excellent chemical stability, can withstand all strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidants, and has no effect with various organic solvents. PTFE can be used in the temperature range of – 180 ℃ ~ 250 ℃ for a long time under atmospheric pressure, and its mechanical properties change little after being treated at 250 ℃ for 1000h. Graphite rod is commonly used in the electric heater of high temperature vacuum furnace.

The maximum operating temperature can reach 3000 ℃, and it is easy to oxidize at high temperature. Except for vacuum, it can only be used in neutral atmosphere or reductive atmosphere. Its thermal expansion coefficient is small, its thermal conductivity is large, its resistance coefficient is (8 ~ 13) × 10-6 Ω· m, its processability is better than that of SiC and MoSi2, its high temperature resistance, extreme cold and heat resistance are good, and its price is cheaper.
